My Life:

For over thirty years, R&D has been my life and work.

Flying and water activities are my weekend leisure.

I like toys related to fluid and structural mechanics: paragliders, ultralights, RC models, off-road vehicles, tree climbing, diving, sailing, canoeing, jet skiing, mini jet boats... These toys have always been a part of my life.

From Electronics to Mechanical R&D:

Over a decade ago, I left my familiar electronics R&D work and entered mechanical R&D.

My first mechanical R&D project was small horizontal and vertical wind turbines. This was a brand-new field for me, but I completed two designs within 3 years.

Although this was completely unrelated to my familiar electronics R&D work, I was able to succeed because my passion for these leisure activities gave me a deep understanding of the relevant principles.

All of these—including propeller blade calculations, composite material production, generator design and winding, and mechanical structures—were all designed and fabricated by me.

For someone who had just entered the mechanical field, this was a great test and experience.

A Boat Building Opportunity:

A few years ago, I received a client’s request for a barge to carry a 4-ton excavator and some equipment, with a total payload of 5 tons.

Because the boat was too large (14x6 meters) to transport, I camped by the lake for 4 months to manufacture the boat.

The boat's structure is simple and durable, allowing the excavator to move on and off freely on natural terrain and making it easy to load and unload goods.

Igniting My Boat Building Dream:

Building this barge reminded me of my idea from over 10 years ago to build my own boat.

I chose the shallow-water Mini jet boat, a very special craft, as my goal. It took 2 and a half years to complete this 10-foot 215HP jet boat.

Because I also work as a tandem paraglider pilot, it took a longer time to finish.

I Like Design and Innovation:

Spending such a long time to complete this boat was mainly because I was always thinking about how to improve and innovate. This is an old habit of mine that I cannot change. During this time, I designed:

Trim & Reverse Control Levers

Sand trap

Muffler

Adjustable seats

Foot throttle

Eductor-style check valve

Then I found that fellow enthusiasts might like these things and find them useful. That is the reason why I have opened a domain here today.
